„Dress of the World” by the World Beauty Congress
“Dress of the World” is a prestigious international competition dedicated to both emerging and established designers in the fashion industry. The event provides a platform for global recognition, encouraging excellence, innovation and creativity in fashion design.
The first edition of the competition took place in Romania, in Timisoara, in February 2014. The event culminated with the Laureates’ Gala, held at the Regional Business Center, in front of a select audience of approximately 450 people.
The competition brought together 30 fashion designers from 15 countries, with Romania represented by designers Aura Dumitru and Anca Melinte. Participants had the opportunity to submit one, two or three unique clothing creations, each respecting the standards of excellence imposed by the organizers.
The “Dress of the World” trophy was awarded to Aygun Talibova from Azerbaijan, whose creation impressed the jury with its originality and refinement.
In addition to the main awards, special distinctions were also awarded, including “Dress of Europe”, “Dress of Asia”, along with other recognitions that highlighted the diversity and artistic mastery of the participants.
The podium was occupied by:
1st place – Azerbaijan – Egyptian style dress
2nd place – Kazahstan
3rd place – Russia
The event was honored by the presence of renowned guests, including Cătălin Botezatu (president of the jury), Elie Lăslean, Roxana Ionescu, as well as other prominent personalities from the fashion industry and the cultural environment.
